Sometimes problems arise out of the blue and you may need help immediately.
I can help you with a vast number of issues, including Linux installation,
Linux server maintenance, customization of open source software, scripting, website programming and general
Linux troubleshooting. It's likely that I can resolve your problem and give
you a quick fix.
When I'm online you will usually receive an answer to your request within
less than an hour and I generally try to get back to you within 24 hours
when working on other projects offline.
You need to send me a quick fix fee of € 25 via PayPal to get me
starting to explore your problem and to provide a fix within 30 minutes.
If your issue requires more work, I will give you an estimate before I
continue troubleshooting your issue, so you can decide whether you would
like to go ahead with my service.
If I cannot help you because I am unavailable or your issue is too special,
I will refund your quick fix fee without further questions immediately.
Do you need help now?
After sending the quick fix fee, please send me an email describing your
issue and make sure, that I can get the access information I need if I have
to log into your system to fix your problem. Some problems can quickly be fixed over the phone,
others require more detailed analysis. Just make sure that I get the picture before I start to
resolve your issue.
Long-term Open Source Support
Unlike other support concepts Kerry Linux's support focuses
more on service and less on insurance. So you will pay only
when I'm actually working for you, resolving problems
or providing maintenance and custom programming for you on your or our own servers.
This practical approach is much more cost-efficient for you, because
you will only pay for the time I need to resolve your
issue and not for the time in which everything is running well.
And you will have complete control over the costs of Kerry Linux support
services, too.
On the other hand, I may not be available at the moment when your problem
arises. So when you need immediate response times you will have to go with
an insurance-centered support plan of the big support companies, and pay their
fees for around-the-clock availability. But chances are, that you don't really
need that kind of support for your kind of business and that you are better off
to spend your money for support, maintenance and development than for insurance.
It is important that you make an informed decision what your priorities are.
I will not take the responsibilities for your business from your shoulders but I will
help you to get as much control over the use of your IT infrastructure as possible
at a reasonable cost.
Clearly open source software support is much more than resolving problems.
When you use open source software it is more likely that you wish to have the software
adapted to your specific needs. Your requirements will change over time and
there are will be new challenges, for which you have no good solution yet.
For this reason Kerry Linux offers to purchase support hours (as much or as little
as you like) which you can use when you'll need help from the Linux expert.
Email Support The most inexpensive way (for you and me) is to write me an email. You should
use this channel if possible to request open source software support
Although this option is suitable only for infrequent contact, many issues can easily
be resolved when the basic information is written down. So please use this channel first.
Phone Support For all tasks that require direct help and assistance you can contact me on the
phone (or via Skype) during prearranged times.
Remote Linux Administration For long-term support I will need access to the machine over the internet via
Secure Shell or VPN. You may have to enable secure access to your server
before
remote system administration is available.
But for all applications we host for you on our servers this is the most efficient
way of providing you with ready to run, up-to-date open source software solutions
that work for you.
Get Support Today!
Usually I offer open source software support based on an estimate of the time for the
job to be done. You will pay my hourly rate and get a bill when finished.
But you can also purchase a yearly retainer that will cover normal email
and phone support for little things and allows you to use 12 hours per year at a reduced rate
when the retainer is prepaid. This will cover everything in case I work for you one hour
each month, usually maintaining and monitoring software that is already installed,
configured and running.
If you require more hours and you have already purchased the retainer, every
extra hour will be charged at the reduced price too, no matter how many you need.
It's my way to say "thank you" for purchasing 12 hours in advance.
